What is The Difference Between a Postal Code & a Zip Code?

Postcode, postal code, and zip code are popular online/offline mailing terminologies. There are several reasons you might be interested in knowing what yours is.

However, confusion may arise if you come across a site requesting for your zip code when you are only familiar with the word postal code or postcode.

Is a postal code the same as a zip code?

Postcode, postal code, and zip code all represent the same thing. With every country having a preferred way of referring to it.

In Canada, it is popularly referred to as a postal code. While in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, they call it a postcode, in the United States, it is mainly referred to as zip code.

As a Nigerian, if you visit an American site or a site from any other country and request you to provide a Zip code, go ahead and use your postal code.
