The state is predominantly situated in the central region of Nigeria and features a diverse landscape with undulating terrains and some mountainous areas that extend from the Cameroonian mountains. These mountains traverse almost the entire length of Taraba State from north to south, connecting with the River Niger. A noteworthy historical aspect of Taraba State is its inclusion of part of the Mambilla Region, renowned as the cradle of the Bantu people and continuously inhabited for approximately five millennia.
Taraba is nicknamed “Nature’s gift to the nation” as the state is rich in culture and minerals as well as many ethnic groups.
