Osun State created on 27 August 1991 is located in the South-Western region of Nigeria. It is bounded in the North by Kwara State, in the East by Ekiti and by Ondo State, in the South by Ogun State, and in the West by Oyo State.

The State nicknamed โ€œLand of Virtueโ€ derived its name from the River Osun, the venerated natural spring that is the manifestation of the Yoruba goddess of the same name.

Osun State produces over 40,000 tons of quality cocoa annually and a major Gold deposit in Nigeria.

  1. Nice one. Very informative. However, kindly edit Ife North headquarters to Ipetumodu and Ife South to Ifetedo. Also, Oke-Dio, Modakeke is area office headquarters.
    Finally, it will be more appropriate to state that, Ajebamidele is the headquarters of Ife Central Local government thank just putting Ile-Ife.
